The Fraja Ellie appeal charity run/walk (Posted – 30th September)

The Fraja Ellie Appeal
Shikkari Karate Kai will be hosting a charity fun run/walk for our students, families and friends in aid of raising money for the Fraja Ellie Appeal.
Fraja Ellie is 5 years old and has been diagnosed with a very aggressive and rare cancer called  neuroblastoma with MYCN amplification which places her in the very high risk category, there is only 3% of children with this type. Fraja’s family need to raise £500,000 to send her abroad as if she relapses, treatment can be received there which will raise her chances by 20%.
As a group we are running/walking 7 miles from The Belle Vue Leisure Centre, Consett, to The Louisa centre, Stanley.
As an extra challenge, Chief instructor Sensei Brett Wilkinson and Sensei Carl Wilkie will start at The Louisa Centre and meet everyone at Belle Vue and run back, totalling 14 miles!!!
After the run/walk we are all going to take part in a karate lesson.
There will be a massage tent available at the Louisa centre offering massages for your tired limbs by Christine Bauer from Fingertip Therapies.
We encourage all students and students families to get involved in the event and if the run/walk is not for you then we would appreciate if you could attend the lesson as all donations will go to the appeal.
If you would like to make a donation to Fraja, you can use their just giving page;
